Towards Zero. VIVID 2018. Fashioning for a Circular Economy

"It's a good time to be YOU" Clare Press The Possibility Project was deeply grateful for the opportunity to create a Future Fashion event for VIVID 2018. We were joined on stage with the talents of Clare Press, Tonia Bastyan and Jess Miller. This sold-out event was made possible by the collective efforts of so many, but we remain deeply appreciative of the VIVID organisers who generously supported our creative ideas to host this event and Jess Miller, Sydney's Deputy Lord Mayor and all round brilliant self-confessed 'ratbag activist'  Towards Zero is our attempt to open conversations that relate to the circular economy and encourage all players within the fashion supply chain to address waste. But whilst the tenets of the Declaration are paramount to a life worth living, they also reflect a thinking that has reached its limit. When the Declaration was written it was enshrined in a belief that a person's...

Three years ago, Kath and I were sitting at breakfast in Jaipur, a seed of creativity was germinating between us and I asked Kath "if you were to visualise what slumwear108 might look like, what would it be?" She lightheartedly scribbled the above on a piece of paper. The essence of this conversation greatly influences the...
