Jo Neville is the artist and designer behind Paper Couture, one of Sydney’s most respected creative paper practices. She is the current artist in resident at Q Station, North Head, Manly. Jo is a delightful working artist, she will enlighten and entertain with insights into the creative process.
In the Banksia Masterclass we will look at the real bloom - Jo will dissect a flower to show how to translate it onto paper. We will make both the coastal banksia and a serratta banksia and study the unique foliage of the various banksias.
There is quite a bit of simple cutting in this workshop, scissors will be supplied, however, if you do have your favourite pair bring them along - it is fine cutting so smaller to medium scissors are preferred.
All tools, kit and materials and afternoon tea are provided, just bring your hands.
Did you know banksia symbolises regeneration, rebirth and discovery. It’s definitely an interesting flower, from the dried seedpods to the intricate flower cones!
